Community Cultural Development research

As part of a fellowship from the Community Cultural Development Board of the Australia Council for the Arts, Carey Lai talked to artists and others working in community cultural development (CCD) around Australia. Her research has provided a body of evidence that shines a light on the community of CCD artists.

How do artists sustain their practice? What are the challenges they face and how do they overcome them? And, is it possible to talk about a career path for practicing artists in CCD?

Currently Carey is working with Associate Professor Jo Caust
on a publication that will incorporate this research.
